The Nigeria Stock Exchange at the close of its trading today, closed the trading floor in red, as the All Share Index ended the trading session at 31,042.32 basis points, down 0.31%, with the trading’s Year To Date (YTD) index down to 1.24%
On the list of top gainers on the trading floor, Red Star Express Plc had the best performing stock for the day, with its stock gaining 10% to close at N5.50.
Red Star Express Plc was not the only gainer as the stock of University Press Plc appreciated by a large margin of by 8.11% to close at N2.00. Stanbic Ibtc Bank Plc was also the third top gainer of the day as it rolled in an added 6.59% to close at N48.50.
NSE trading reports showed Guaranty Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock, with 46 million shares valued at N1.4 billion were traded in 238 deals. While Access Bank Plc was next with 18.5 million shares, valued at N121 million traded in 289 deals. FBN Holdings Plc rounds the top three most actively traded stocks today. 16.4 million shares, valued at N134 million were traded in 185 deals.
However, the stock trading of Academy Press Plc had the worst trading as its performance dipped; the stock of the publisher 8.33% to close, at a five year low of N0.33. Also, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc had its stock fell by 6.90% to close at N0.27. Meanwhile, Access Bank Plc rounds up the top three losers for the trading day as it sheds 6.57% to close at N6.40.
