NIGERIA: Minister Commends Stakeholders, Hints on Bill

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva said that Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) is expected to be fully passed by mid of 2020

The Minister described 2019 as a workflow and successful year for the ministry and its agencies. Chief Sylva stated that the last year was full of great achievement for the Ministry of Petroleum noting their achievement: The Ministry amended deep offshore (and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contact) and signing of the contractual agreement on the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Train Project.

The State Minister said that other achievements are the discovery of crude oil in the Upper Benue Trough and the hosting of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of the African Petroleum Producers Organization.

He finally in his speech thanked every Nigerian Citizen, all the key Stakeholders, Heads of Agencies of the Ministry, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority and the Petroleum Training Institute, Petroleum Equalization Fund (Management) Board, Petroleum Technology Development Fund and Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board and every member of staff for all the support. He said,

“We look forward to delivering on all our aspirations as we remain committed and focused on the New Year”
