The President and CEO of Jobberman, an online career portal that offers job information and career-building services in Nigeria,
Mr Ayodeji Adewunmi has resigned.
Adewunmi in a comment on his resignation from his decade-year-old company explained that he would like to pursue a new career in venture investing. According to him;
“I think its great timing to say goodbye and explore what’s next. It is truly overwhelming, but I have the comfort of knowing I leave Jobberman in better hands than my own. It is such an incredible feeling and honour to experience what you founded to take a life of its own. I will remain close to the company and have full faith in the team and new management to continue to solve Nigeria’s recruitment needs.”
The Jobberman CEO, Ayodeji Adewunmi co-founded the Pan- African job search engine along with entrepreneurs Olalekan Olude and Opeyemi Awoyemi while still in college.
He has a stellar profile which covers his being a recipient of the Inaugural Malaria Award 2006 — University student of the year category for his outstanding work on malaria within the Federation of Medical Students Worldwide, TED Global 2007 fellow, invitation to join the New Leaders Program class of Tallberg Foundation in 2009, being named Crans Montana New Leaders Fellow in 2010, and a member of the Governance Consultative Council Group of The World Bank in Nigeria.
Mr Adewunmi was the moderator of the High-Level Panel on Innovation and Industrial Skill development of the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment in Nigeria in May 2012. In December that same year, he was on the Presidential Policy Dialogue of the 18th Nigerian Economic Summit. In 2013 he was one of the speakers at the Economic Conference— Nigeria Summit.
Mr Ayodeji has definitely left his mark in the job market as he was at the forefront of the team that that helped over 7, 000 persons acquire jobs.
