The minister of information and national orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said that plans are in the works to enable the seizure of the Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID) assets in the country.
This statement was made at the defence of the 2020 budgets of agencies which were led by him before the Senate committee on information and national orientation.
The minister, Alhaji Mohammed, said the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, is working towards the actualisation of a total seizure of all assets of the P&ID in the country.
The minister, Alhaji Mohammed, claimed awareness of the AGF working towards registering the judgement where the court ordered the winding up P&ID in Nigeria.
The minister also claimed to be aware of work by the ministry of justice towards the institution of an action to set aside the award of $9.6 billion that had been granted to P&ID because the fraud involved in the entire process wasn’t taken into accounts.
The minister made claims to the fact that efforts were being made to prosecute Nigerians found to be complicit in P&ID’s exploitation of the country and investigations were being carried out to apprehend those involved in the scandal.
