The International Airport Enugu called Akanni Ibiam International Airport Enugu State will cost the Federal Government of Nigeria an amount worth N10bn for reparation.
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Managing Director, Captian Rabiu Yadudu uncovered that the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has approved a sum of funds worth N10bn for the completion and full reparation of the Enugu International Airport.
He added that the actual amount required for the completion of the project is N8.5bn but the President signed N10bn, meaning that the Federal Government gave excess fund of N1.5bn which is in the coffers of the Ministry of Aviation.
The House of Representatives Committee on Aviation Chairman, Mr. Nnoli Nnaji, and other concerned custodians at a meeting has commended the effort of the contractor in charge of the Airport reparation.
Mr. Nnaji and other members said they have constantly paid a usual visit to the Airport project site to oversee work done and to ensure quick completion of the work.
Speaking on behalf of the Contractor, Mr. David Emerson said that the Airport reparation project would be faster to meet the agreed date of completion.
