The Department of Petroleum Resources creates a Multimillion Naira Laboratory project in Cross River State to guarantee and ensure the effective distribution of good quality petroleum products.
The Department of Petroleum Resources, Operations Controller Field Office, Calabar, Mr. Philip Awolu opened the petroleum laboratory at the agency office in Cross River State.
At the inauguration, Mr. Philip Awolu who was represented by Mr. Ndaliman Mohammed said that the laboratory has been furnished and built to standard for constants analysis of petroleum products.
He said that the Laboratory opening has signified the successful accomplishment of the Calabar office and that it indicated the essence of the Department of Petroleum Resources management placed on the capacity of the Calabar Field Office.
Mr. Philip Awolu said that one of the significant roles of the Department of Petroleum Resources is to make certain quality of petroleum products and this can be achieved through the laboratory created to augment that quality.
He added that Department of Petroleum Resources is liable for anything in the oil and gas industry and that they are responsible for inspecting petroleum products so that they can ensure protection of consumer interests and the environment because some petroleum products are prone to pollute or destroy equipment and vehicles using petroleum products and also the department will use the laboratory aid to check adulterated products.
